Equipment

  • Air-fryer For cooking the salmon evenly
  • Mixing bowl For seasoning the salmon
  • Tongs For handling the cooked salmon
  • Small Whisk For mixing the sauce, if using

Ingredients

  • 1 pound salmon fillets skinless, cut into portions
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for coating the salmon
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika for a deep, smoky flavor
  • 1 teaspoon cumin adds warmth and depth
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder for extra savory taste
  • 1 teaspoon lime zest for bright citrus notes
  • 4 corn tortillas or flour tortillas, warmed
  • 1 cup shredded cabbage red or green, for crunch
  • ½ cup Greek yogurt or sour cream, for sauce
  • 1 tablespoon lime juice for the sauce
  • ½ teaspoon chipotle powder for a smoky kick
  • 1 avocado sliced, for topping
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) to ensure even cooking.
  • Pat the salmon dry with a paper towel and brush with olive oil. In a small bowl, mix paprika, cumin, garlic powder, and lime zest. Rub the seasoning evenly over the salmon.
  • Place the salmon fillets in the air fryer basket, ensuring they are not overcrowded. Cook for 7-10 minutes, depending on thickness, until the salmon is flaky and cooked through.
  • While the salmon cooks, prepare the sauce by whisking together Greek yogurt, lime juice, and chipotle powder in a small bowl.
  • Remove the salmon from the air fryer and let it rest for 2 minutes. Flake into bite-sized pieces using a fork.
  • Warm the tortillas in a dry skillet or over an open flame for a lightly charred texture.
  • Assemble the tacos by layering salmon, shredded cabbage, avocado slices, and a drizzle of the sauce. Garnish with fresh cilantro.

Notes

  • For extra crunch, add crispy tortilla strips on top.
  • If using frozen salmon, let it thaw completely before seasoning.
  • Customize with pickled onions, mango salsa, or crumbled queso fresco for unique variations.
