Ingredients
  

  • 4 pieces chicken breasts or pork chops boneless, skinless
  • 1 packet Shake and Bake coating mix store-bought or homemade
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil spray for an even, crispy coating
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder optional, for added flavor
  • 1 teaspoon paprika optional, for extra color and taste
  • 1 large egg optional, for a thicker breading
  • 1 tablespoon milk optional, for helping the breading adhere

Instructions
 

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) to ensure even crisping.
  • Pat the chicken or pork dry with a paper towel to remove excess moisture for better breading adhesion.
  • If using, beat the egg and milk together in a shallow bowl for a thicker coating.
  • Place the Shake and Bake mix in a resealable bag or shallow dish. Add garlic powder and paprika if desired.
  • Coat the meat in the egg mixture (if using), then transfer to the Shake and Bake mixture. Shake until fully coated, pressing gently to adhere.
  • Arrange the coated meat in a single layer in the air fryer basket, leaving space between each piece.
  • Lightly spray with olive oil to enhance crispiness.
  • Air fry for 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the coating is golden and crispy.
  • Check for doneness with a meat thermometer—165°F (74°C) for chicken, 145°F (63°C) for pork.
  • Let rest for 2-3 minutes before serving to keep juices locked in.

Notes

  • For a crunchier coating, lightly press the Shake and Bake mix onto the meat before cooking.
  • Adding parmesan cheese to the breading mix creates extra depth and a richer flavor.
  • If cooking vegetables, reduce cook time to 8-10 minutes depending on thickness.
