Knife
- 1 cup cornmeal
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- ½ cup finely chopped onion
- ½ cup milk
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup chopped jalapeños optional
In a large mixing bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the chopped onion and jalapeños if using.
In another bowl, whisk together milk and egg. Pour this into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined.
Chill the mixture in the fridge for about 30 minutes.
Preheat your air fryer to 380°F.
Scoop small balls of the mixture and place them in the air fryer basket, ensuring they’re spaced out.
Air fry for 10-12 minutes or until they're golden brown, giving them a shake halfway through for even cooking.
Serve hot and enjoy these crispy bites with your favourite dipping sauce!
