Equipment

  • Air-fryer
  • Mixing bowl
  • Sharp Knife
  • Pastry brush
  • Cutting board

Ingredients

  • 12 phyllo dough sheets
  • 1 cup chopped nuts walnuts, pistachios, or almonds
  • ½ cup melted butter
  • ¼ cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon

For the Honey Syrup

  • ½ cup honey
  • ½ cup water
  • Optional: a squeeze of lemon juice

Instructions

  • In a mixing bowl, combine chopped nuts, sugar, and cinnamon—set aside.
  • Lay one sheet of phyllo dough on a clean surface and brush with melted butter. Repeat this with about 6-8 sheets (buttering each layer) to create a base.
  • Sprinkle a layer of the nut mixture on top, then layer another phyllo sheet over it, brushing with butter again. Repeat until all the nuts are used, finishing with a layer of phyllo.
  • Cut the layered baklava into diamond shapes with your sharp knife—don’t skip this step, or you'll regret it!
  • Preheat your air fryer to 320°F.
  • Place the baklava in the air fryer basket in a single layer (you may need to cook in batches).
  • Cook for about 15 minutes or until golden and crispy.
  • While the baklava is cooking, combine honey and water in a small saucepan and bring to a boil to create the syrup.
  • Once the baklava is done, drizzle the hot syrup over it and let it soak in.
  • Serve warm and watch it disappear! Enjoy every sweet, flaky bite!
