1 lb strawberries hulled and sliced 2 tablespoon granulated sugar 2 cups all-purpose flour 1 tablespoon baking powder Pinch of salt ½ cup melted butter ¾ cup milk 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Whipped cream for topping
Slice the strawberries and mix them with sugar. Set aside to macerate for about 30 minutes.
In a mixing bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and vanilla extract.
In another bowl, combine melted butter and milk. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, mixing until just combined.
Spoon the batter into your air fryer basket lined with parchment paper, making about 4 shortcakes.
Air fry at 320°F for about 10 minutes or until golden brown. Let them cool slightly.
To serve, slice shortcakes in half, layer with strawberries and whipped cream, and enjoy the deliciousness!
Shortcakes can be made ahead of time and stored in an airtight container for a couple of days.
Feel free to adjust the sweetness of the strawberries based on your taste.
