In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring it to a boil and then stir in the flour until the mixture forms a dough.
Let it cool slightly, then mix in the egg until fully incorporated and smooth.
Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
Pipe the churros directly into the air fryer basket, cutting them to your desired length. Don’t forget to give them some space!
Cook for about 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown.
Shake together sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Roll the hot churros in this mix and serve warm with chocolate sauce for dipping.
Notes
These churros are best enjoyed fresh, but you can totally keep them in an airtight container for a day or two, if you have any leftovers. We won’t judge if you eat them all in one sitting!
