Equipment

  • Air-fryer
  • Piping Bag or Zip-top Bag
  • Mixing bowl
  • saucepan
  • whisk

Ingredients

  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup water
  • ¼ cup butter unsalted
  • 3 tablespoons sugar plus more for dusting
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon plus more for dusting
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 1 large egg
  • Chocolate sauce for dipping

Instructions

  • In a saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring it to a boil and then stir in the flour until the mixture forms a dough.
  • Let it cool slightly, then mix in the egg until fully incorporated and smooth.
  • Transfer the dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Preheat your air fryer to 375°F (190°C).
  • Pipe the churros directly into the air fryer basket, cutting them to your desired length. Don’t forget to give them some space!
  • Cook for about 8-10 minutes, or until golden brown.
  • Shake together sugar and cinnamon in a bowl. Roll the hot churros in this mix and serve warm with chocolate sauce for dipping.

Notes

  • These churros are best enjoyed fresh, but you can totally keep them in an airtight container for a day or two, if you have any leftovers. We won’t judge if you eat them all in one sitting!
