Equipment

  • Air-fryer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Tongs
  • Shallow Dish for dredging
  • Cutting board

Ingredients

  • 1 pound catfish fillets
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • Olive oil or cooking spray

Instructions

  • Pat the catfish fillets dry with paper towels and season with salt and pepper.
  • In a shallow dish, mix together cornmeal, flour, and Cajun seasoning.
  • Coat each catfish fillet thoroughly in the cornmeal mixture.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F.
  • Lightly drizzle or spray the coated fillets with olive oil to help with crispiness.
  • Place the fillets in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  • Air fry for about 12-15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve hot with your favourite dipping sauce or as desired!

Notes

  • Make sure not to stack the fillets; they need that hot air to circulate around them for perfect crisping!
  • If you have thicker fillets, feel free to add a couple of extra minutes to the cooking time—better safe than sorry! Enjoy!
