Equipment

  • Air-fryer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Shallow Dishes for Breading
  • Tongs

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornstarch
  • 2 large eggs beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Optional spices Old Bay, garlic powder, etc.

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F.
  • Set up a breading station: First, place the flour and cornstarch in one bowl, the beaten eggs in another, and the panko (mixed with your chosen seasonings) in a third.
  • Dip each shrimp in the flour mixture, then the eggs, and finally roll it in the panko breadcrumbs until fully coated.
  • Arrange your breaded shrimp in the air fryer basket in a single layer. You may need to do this in batches depending on your air fryer size.
  • Cook for about 8-10 minutes, flipping halfway through, until shrimp are golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve hot, paired with your favourite dipping sauce, and get ready for a crunch explosion!

Notes

  • Feel free to adjust the spices and seasonings to suit your taste buds—there’s no such thing as too much flavour, right?
  • These popcorn shrimp are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored in the fridge for a day—if you somehow manage not to devour them all in one sitting!
