1 whole chicken 3-4 pounds 1 tablespoon salt 1 teaspoon black pepper 1 tablespoon paprika 1 teaspoon garlic powder 2 tablespoons olive oil for drizzling
Pat the chicken dry with paper towels, remove the backbone using kitchen shears, and flatten it out.
In a bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and olive oil. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the chicken.
Preheat your air fryer to 380°F.
Place the spatchcock chicken in the air fryer basket, skin side up.
Cook for about 40 minutes, checking for doneness with a meat thermometer (should read 165°F at the thickest part).
Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
For an added crunch, you can sprinkle some panko breadcrumbs on the skin before air frying.
Adjust the cooking time for larger chickens to ensure some fabulous crispy skin all around.
