Ingredients
  

  • 1 whole chicken 3-4 pounds
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil for drizzling

Instructions
 

  • Pat the chicken dry with paper towels, remove the backbone using kitchen shears, and flatten it out.
  • In a bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and olive oil. Rub this seasoning mixture all over the chicken.
  • Preheat your air fryer to 380°F.
  • Place the spatchcock chicken in the air fryer basket, skin side up.
  • Cook for about 40 minutes, checking for doneness with a meat thermometer (should read 165°F at the thickest part).
  • Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before slicing and serving.

Notes

  • For an added crunch, you can sprinkle some panko breadcrumbs on the skin before air frying.
  • Adjust the cooking time for larger chickens to ensure some fabulous crispy skin all around.
