A high-quality food photograph of shrimp pasta in a white ceramic bowl on a white marble surface. The dish contains large pink shrimp cooked in a creamy sauce, served over linguine pasta. Fresh green parsley garnishes are scattered throughout the dish. Two slices of crusty French bread with golden-brown crusts are placed on the left side of the bowl. A silver fork rests on a beige linen napkin on the right side. A small white bowl containing parmesan cheese is partially visible in the top right corner. The pasta has a glossy, creamy sauce that coats each strand. The lighting is bright and even, creating subtle shadows that add depth to the composition. The marble surface has subtle gray veining patterns. The image is shot from directly above in a top-down perspective.

Equipment

  • Large Skillet For sautéing shrimp and making the sauce
  • Large pot For boiling pasta
  • Wooden Spoon For stirring the sauce

Ingredients

  • 1 pound large shrimp peeled and deveined
  • 12 ounces linguine pasta or preferred pasta
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 tablespoon Cajun seasoning
  • ½ cup Parmesan cheese freshly grated
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper flakes optional, adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil for sautéing
  • 1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped

Instructions

  • Cook the linguine pasta according to package instructions. Drain and set aside, saving some pasta water.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side until pink. Remove from the skillet and set aside.
  • In the same skillet, add minced garlic and sauté for 1 minute. Stir in the Cajun seasoning and heavy cream, and simmer for 3-4 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  • Add the cooked linguine to the sauce, stirring to coat the pasta evenly. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water.
  • Stir in Parmesan cheese and return the shrimp to the skillet. Toss everything together and heat for an additional minute.
  • Serve immediately, garnished with fresh parsley and extra Parmesan cheese.

Notes

  • For a spicier kick, increase the red pepper flakes or add a dash of hot sauce.
  • Swap shrimp for chicken or sausage for a different protein.
  • For a lighter version, you can use **half-and-half** instead of heavy cream and **zucchini noodles** instead of pasta.
