Equipment

  • Air-fryer
  • Mixing bowls
  • Breading Station
  • Tongs

Ingredients

  • 1 pound calamari rings
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup cornmeal
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Olive oil spray

Instructions

  • Preheat your air fryer to 400°F.
  • Set up your breading station: one bowl for flour, another for the beaten eggs, and a third for the breadcrumbs mixed with cornmeal, garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
  • Dip each calamari ring first into the flour, then the eggs, and finally into the breadcrumb mixture, making sure they’re well-coated.
  • Place the coated rings in the air fryer basket in a single layer (a little spacing is key!) and spray lightly with olive oil.
  • Cook for about 8-10 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through, until they’re golden brown and crispy.
  • Serve immediately with your favourite sauce, and watch them disappear faster than you can say "calamari!"
