The air fryer makes it foolproof. And let’s be honest, everyone enjoys a good onion ring binge.

Ingredients for Crispy Air Fryer Onion Rings

  • Onions: One large onion, sliced into 1/4 inch rings
  • Flour: 1/2 cup for the perfect coating
  • Eggs: 2, beaten
  • Breadcrumbs: 1 cup panko breadcrumbs for that irresistible crunch
  • Seasonings: Salt, pepper, and paprika for flavor magic
  • Cooking spray: To make sure they crisp up beautifully without sticking

Tips for Perfect Air Fryer Onion Rings

Want your onion rings to come out just right? Keep these tips in mind:

  • Keep it uniform: Slice your onions evenly. Trust us, it’ll make all the difference in consistent cooking.
  • Layer it up: Double-dip in flour and breadcrumbs for that extra crunch factor.
  • Don’t overcrowd: Give the onion rings some space in the air fryer basket so they cook evenly and get all crispy.

Variations and Substitutions

No panko breadcrumbs? Regular breadcrumbs work too, but panko gives that extra crunch we’re all about.

Feeling cheesy? Add some grated Parmesan into the breadcrumb mix for a cheesy twist.

Craving spice? Toss in some cayenne pepper or your favorite hot sauce into the egg wash for a spicy kick.
