Easy Air Fryer Blueberry Muffins

Jump to Recipe

Blueberry muffins in the air fryer? Yes, please, a quick twist on classic American-style bakery muffins.

We were sceptical at first, but now we're hooked.

Here's our discovery: the air fryer bakes these muffins to golden perfection, producing a tender crumb with a slightly crisp top in about 12-15 minutes at 350°F. Pop them in while you're getting ready.

Enjoy a warm, fluffy muffin with your morning coffee.

We tried it on a lazy Sunday. It's super easy and quick.

Bonus - practically zero cleanup.

Our mornings just got a major upgrade. Let's get into it!

Tips for Perfect Air Fryer Blueberry Muffins

Don't miss these tips for muffins that will have everyone coming back for seconds; for other simple air fryer mains see air fryer chicken wings basics, or try banana muffins for quick breakfasts.

  • Toss the Berries: Lightly coat blueberries in flour before folding into the batter to prevent them from sinking, using about 1 tablespoon of flour per cup of berries.
  • Fill 'Em Up: Fill muffin liners about ⅔ full for the perfect rise. This leaves room for roughly 20-30% volume expansion during baking.
  • Don't Overmix: Mix just until ingredients are combined to keep muffins tender, stopping when a few streaks of flour remain.

  • Lemon Zest: Adds a zesty flavor, using the zest of one lemon for bright citrus notes.
  • Cinnamon: For a warm, cozy taste. Use about ½ teaspoon to complement a cup of batter.
  • Almond Extract: A hint of almond flavor goes a long way.
  • Chocolate Chips: Because why not add more sweetness?
